The Nytmaer Youtube Channel

I've done many things in my life in the constant pursuit of an occupation that gives me purpose and pride.  I've been an author, a screenwriter, a filmmaker and, a game designer, and each time I always found myself back to a set of skills developed nearly twenty years ago to create my first backyard wrestling intro.

Making Videos!

My love for making videos and video editing is a task that I am known for and one that I have pursued without any formal training.  There is also my passion for anime and videogames.  Anyone who knew me growing up knows that videogames and anime were two of my earliest passions (next to martial arts and writing).  Before they were popular; I was playing them.  Hey Quentin, remember Nicholas T. Grafx?  Before anime was on Toonami, I was watching Robotech, Voltron, Dragon Warrior, Tranzor Z and Dragonball Z (in Spanish on Telemundo.)

You might be asking yourself; what does this have to do with the Nytmaer Youtube Channel?

Well, everything.

An entrepreneur is supposed to turn their passion into an occupation.  They take something they really enjoy and develop it into a viable product.  They should use their skills and experience to take an idea and really get it out there.  The best ones keep at it, developing a raw, lump of coal until it is polished and brilliant like a diamond.  I've had my channel since 2006, (which is the same year Youtube was purchased by Google) and yet I've never done anything significant with it. The time for inaction has passed.  Change starts now.

What to expect?

The Nytmaer Channel is about anime and games.  They are the parts of geekdom that get most of my time, attention and money so they will be the target of my focus.  I will do reviews of new games and of old ones.  I'll post useful facts, memes and best of all entertain as only I know how.  I'll bring everything to the world, from my corny sense of humor and use of terrible puns to my strong, fervent passion in an effort to consistently produce new and interesting content.

Regarding anime, I'll feature media from some of my favorite series.  Dragon Ball Z and Super, One Punch Man, Hajime No Ippo for starters, but as new series appear, I'll also produce new, relevant content.  This could be from Top 5/10 lists to anime tropes.  I'll work till I find topics and content that resonates with my viewers.

Skyrim, Fallout, and Warframe, and are my go-to games, but my goal is to produce content reflecting a wider taste in gaming as well as technology such as VR/AR. I might even give Pokemon' Go a shot (more Digimon/Medabots fan) if enough fans convince me it's worth looking into.

Why would anyone be interested?

The Nytmaer channel is for those who appreciate the things that I am passionate about, but more than that it's a testament to a fan who is older (by about 10-20 years according to my analytics) and has a lot of experience and insight.  I've accumulated decades of expertise and knowledge and I'll get to share that with them.  In many ways, I'm like a big brother who has seen a lot, knows a lot and is passing it along to my younger siblings.  I try to stay on top of new games, new series and can pass that on to an audience that is always looking for something new or a different perspective.  Viewers get to learn new tricks, gain different perspectives, laugh, acquire knowledge or be  entertained. I get to interact with a global audience something I'm eager to do. I'll be able to connect with them directly using social media and live streams.  It'll be Awesome.

What's left?

My next planned video is a channel trailer that goes over a lot of what I just told you, but in a visual format.  A channel trailer will help introduce me to new visitors, lay out my goals and give them a preview of what to expect. This helps legitimize the channel something that shows a level of commitment to the idea itself.

Final Words

I don't expect this to be easy or quick.  I know better than that.  Some famous YouTubers have been at their craft for years and in a way, I'm a noob.  I'm learning the art of being a successful Youtuber from the ground level.  This is a good thing.  I can learn the right way but I have the means to immediately implement it.  There's a lot of hard work involved and a lot of concepts to master both small and large, but I'm going to do my best to deliver.

I'll still be a fan, following my favorite Youtubers as much as I did before. Who knows, one day I'll be able to meet them as equals.
